Every calculator here applies a published rule to the numbers you type in. It does not know your full circumstances, it has not seen your return or your notices, and it cannot weigh the judgement calls a professional would make. Two people with the same salary can owe different tax because of credits, exemptions, prior-year positions, residency or the treatment their Accounts Office has recorded — none of which a calculator can see.

Nothing on this site is tax, legal, accounting, financial or investment advice, and using it does not create a professional relationship of any kind. If a figure matters — a filing, a payment, a dispute, a purchase — check it with a qualified tax practitioner, with the Federal Board of Revenue, or with the provincial authority concerned before you act on it.

Rates, slabs and thresholds are transcribed from primary sources: the Income Tax Ordinance 2001 as amended, Finance Acts, FBR withholding cards and circulars, provincial finance acts, and the notifications of the departments concerned. Where a page depends on a specific notification, that notification is named on the page with its number and date, and linked where the issuing body publishes it.

Where a rate is genuinely not fixed centrally — an electricity tariff that differs by distribution company, a solar buyback rate written into an individual agreement, a National Savings rate set at the date of issue — this site does not ship a number. It asks you for yours, and says why. A convenient default that is wrong for your case is worse than no default.

• The law changed. Rates move with every Finance Act, and mid-year notifications and SROs move them again. A page can be correct when written and out of date a month later.
• Your situation has a wrinkle the calculator does not model. Most do not model every credit, exemption, carry-forward or concessionary regime that might apply to you.
• You entered a figure that means something slightly different. Gross versus basic pay, assessed versus declared value, calendar versus tax year — small definitional differences change the answer.
• Rounding. Results are rounded for readability; an official computation may round differently at different steps.
• Transcription error. These pages are written by people from government documents, and people make mistakes. If you find one, please report it — see the editorial policy below.
