Agriculture Income Tax Calculator

Agricultural income tax is set by each province separately. We have a real, working calculator for Punjab — for other provinces, here's where to look.

By province

Find your province's agriculture tax

Punjab — calculator available

Aligned with the FBR non-salaried business slabs since Tax Year 2025. Use our dedicated Punjab calculator for an instant estimate.

Sindh

Set by the Sindh Board of Revenue. Rates and per-acre assumptions vary by crop and irrigation status — check directly with the Board of Revenue for the current schedule.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Set by the KP provincial revenue authority. Confirm current rates and landholding categories with your district revenue office.

Balochistan

Set by the Balochistan provincial revenue authority. Confirm current rates with your local Board of Revenue office.

Why only Punjab?

Our approach to accuracy

We only publish verified figures

Punjab's alignment with the federal business slabs is documented and verifiable. We don't have the same verified data for Sindh, KP or Balochistan, so we won't guess.

Rates change and vary locally

Provincial agriculture tax often varies further by district, crop type and irrigated vs barani land — beyond what a single calculator can safely generalise.

Deductions matter too

Input costs, Zakat paid, and calamity relief can all affect what's actually taxable — factor these in regardless of province.

Reading the result

Why there is no single national calculator

Agricultural income tax is a provincial subject. There is no federal rate to apply, because the Constitution places this tax with the provinces and each has legislated separately. A page claiming one national figure would be wrong everywhere except by accident.

That is why this points you to the province rather than producing a number. Punjab has a working calculator here because its basis is published and verifiable; for the others, the provincial revenue authority is the source that governs.

Irrigation still matters in several provinces

Where assessment is based on land rather than income, the water source usually changes the rate: rain-fed barani land is generally assessed more lightly than canal or tube-well irrigated land, on the reasoning that irrigated land yields more and costs more to work. Provinces that have moved to an income basis care less about this and more about what you actually earned.

Ushr is a separate obligation

Ushr is a religious levy on produce under the Zakat and Ushr Ordinance 1980, charged at each harvest. Provincial agricultural income tax is a tax on income. They coexist; paying one does not discharge the other.

The Ushr calculator covers that side.

Where this stops

This page is a signpost, not an assessment. Rates and bases change by provincial finance act, so check the current position with the revenue authority for the province the land sits in.

FAQs

Agriculture tax FAQs

Why is there only a real calculator for Punjab?

Agricultural income tax is a provincial subject, and each province sets its own rates and rules. We only have a verified, working calculation for Punjab (aligned with the FBR non-salaried slabs from Tax Year 2025) — we'd rather send you to your provincial tax authority than publish unverified figures for Sindh, KP or Balochistan.

Where can I check rates for other provinces?

Contact your provincial Board of Revenue or Excise & Taxation department — Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) processes for Sindh, and the respective provincial revenue authorities for KP and Balochistan.

Does irrigated vs barani (rain-fed) land matter?

Yes, in most provinces the rate or per-acre assumption can differ by irrigation status and crop type — details vary enough by province and even district that we can't generalise them accurately here.

Is agricultural income exempt from federal income tax?

Agricultural income is generally taxed provincially, not under the federal Income Tax Ordinance — though the interaction with other income sources can be complex. Confirm with a tax advisor for mixed income situations.
