Balochistan Pension Calculator

The Civil Service Regulations formula worked in full — qualifying service, gross pension, commutation and restoration. Balochistan publishes no increase chain that could be verified, so those are yours to enter rather than ours to invent.

The increases are yours to enter. This page works the pension formula, which is common ground across these governments. It does not claim an increase chain for Balochistan, because none could be found published. Leaving them out gives you the pension before increases; loading the federal percentages gives you a labelled estimate.

Death during service fixes commutation at 25% and pays it as gratuity. Death after retirement pays the family 75% of the net pension.
Sets the age that picks your commutation factor.
This decides which annual increases you carry — an increase does not apply to someone who retired after its cut-off.
AGPR works the federal pension on the average basic pay of the last 24 months; KP uses the last basic pay drawn. Which of the two applies here could not be established from a published source, so enter whichever figure your AG office used.
Only used for the medical allowance: 25% below BPS 16, 20% at BPS 16 and above.
Commuting trades monthly pension for a lump sum now. The commuted part comes back after restoration.
No published increase notification for this jurisdiction could be found, so no chain is assumed. Enter the percentages from your own government's notifications, or load the federal ones as a starting point — they are labelled an assumption wherever they are used.
Other pay and allowances
Added to basic pay before the pension formula runs.
Payable above BPS 19. Added at the end, after the increases.

Year by year

How the annual increases build your pension

IncreaseRateAmountRunning pensionNote

Each increase compounds on the total before it, and one you retired after does not apply to you at all — which is why two people on identical pay and service can draw very different pensions.

The pension FORMULA below — qualifying service, gross at seven three-hundredths per year, the commutation factor table, restoration and the medical allowance — comes from the Civil Service Regulations and is common ground across these governments, which is why it is reproduced here. The ANNUAL INCREASES are not: every finance department notifies its own, and they are most of the final figure. So this page computes the formula for you and leaves the increases for you to enter.

Step by step

How the pension is worked out

  1. Qualifying service

Years between appointment and retirement, rounded up if the remainder passes five months, capped at 30.

  2. Gross pension

Emoluments multiplied by service, times seven over three hundred. Thirty years earns 70% of pay.

  3. Commutation

The share you commute is converted to a lump sum using an age factor, and returns to your monthly pension at restoration.

  4. Increases and allowances

Each increase compounds on the one before it. This page does not assume any, so enter your own government’s notified percentages or load the federal ones as a clearly labelled estimate. The medical allowance is added last.

Reading the result

The formula is solid; the increases are local

Gross pension, commutation and restoration all follow the Civil Service Regulations method, and that part of the answer is dependable. The annual increases layered on top are a provincial matter.

Why the increases are yours to enter

The formula here is the Civil Service Regulations calculation, which is common ground. What is not published in a form that could be verified is the complete chain of annual increase notifications for this jurisdiction. Rather than borrow the federal percentages and present them as though they were local, the calculator leaves them to you.

Get them from your own Pension Payment Order or from the Finance Department notifications. If you load the federal figures to see an indication, treat the result as exactly that — an indication, clearly labelled, not your entitlement.

Commutation is a trade, not a bonus

The lump sum is not extra money. You are selling part of your monthly pension for a number of years in exchange for cash now, and the monthly figure stays reduced until the commuted portion restores.

Whether that is a good trade depends on things a calculator cannot weigh: whether you have an immediate use for the capital that earns more than the pension you gave up, your health and family history, and whether you would actually invest the lump sum or spend it. Someone clearing a debt at a high rate is in a different position from someone who will leave it in a savings account.

Where this stops

The Accountant General Balochistan holds your service record. The Pension Payment Order sanctioned from it is the figure that governs, and it reflects increases notified by the province rather than anything entered here.

FAQs

Balochistan Pension Calculator FAQs

Why does this page not know Balochistan's pension increases?

Because no published notification could be reached. The Government of Balochistan and Accountant General Balochistan sites carried no pension calculator and no consolidated increase memorandum when this page was built. Rather than copy the federal percentages and put a Balochistan label on them, the page computes the formula and asks you for the increases.

So what does the calculator actually give me?

Everything up to the increases, which is most of the mechanical work: qualifying service with the borrow-and-round rule, the gross pension, the share you commute, the commutation lump sum priced from the age factor table, the year your commuted portion is restored, and the medical allowance. What it will not do is invent a percentage.

Is the formula itself reliable?

Yes. Gross pension is emoluments times qualifying service times seven over three hundred, capped at thirty years, and the commutation factor table is the standard one in the Civil Service Regulations. Both were transcribed from the Accountant General's own published calculator, and both are common ground across these governments — it is the increases that diverge, not the formula.

What should I enter for the increases?

The percentages from your own Finance Department notifications, year by year. If you do not have them, load the federal chain as a starting point — every row it produces is labelled an assumption rather than a Balochistan notification, so it never reads as sourced.

How much do the increases actually matter?

They are most of the final figure. On identical facts the federal government pays about Rs 111,000 a month where Khyber Pakhtunkhwa pays about Rs 92,000, and the whole gap is the increase chain. That is exactly why guessing one is not acceptable here.

Which basic pay should I enter?

Whichever your AG office used to work out the gross pension. AGPR uses the average of the last 24 months for federal pensioners and KP uses the last basic pay drawn; which convention Balochistan applies could not be established from a published source, so the page does not assume one.

Is the medical allowance right for Balochistan?

It is applied on the federal treatment — 25% of the post-2010 total below BPS 16, 20% at BPS 16 and above, plus a further 25% on the allowance. No separate Balochistan notification confirming those percentages was found, so treat that line as indicative.

What if I can send you the notifications?

Then the chain can be added properly, the way Sindh's was after its 2022 memorandum was read. The data file is structured so a jurisdiction with a verified chain drops straight in.

Is this the figure I will be paid?

It is an estimate, and a partial one until you supply the increases. The Pension Payment Order issued by your Accountant General office governs.
