Zakat Calculator
In Pakistan, Zakat is 2.5% of your net zakatable wealth (what you hold, less debts due) once it reaches nisab, the value of 52.5 tola of silver at today’s price (the gold nisab, 7.5 tola, is only for gold held alone). On Rs 1,000,000 it is Rs 25,000. Enter what you hold and today’s price per tola; if your bank deducted Zakat on the first of Ramadan, enter that too.
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Zakatable assets | Rs 900,000 |
| Less debts due | − Rs 100,000 |
| Net zakatable wealth | Rs 800,000 |
| Nisab (illustration: the bank-deduction threshold) | Rs 503,529 |
| Zakat at 2.5% | Rs 20,000 |
| Less Zakat the bank deducted | − Rs 0 |
| Left to pay | Rs 20,000 |
Nisab
What is the nisab for Zakat, and how do I work it out?
For mixed wealth, nisab is the value of 52.5 tola (612.35 g) of silver: multiply today’s silver price per tola by 52.5. The gold nisab, 7.5 tola (87.48 g) of gold, applies only when gold is all you hold; gold together with any cash, silver or trade goods is tested against the silver nisab on the combined value. That is the Deobandi (Hanafi) position given by Darul Ifta Banuri Town, and because this calculator adds your wealth together, it uses the silver nisab. The nisab calculator shows both in rupees.
Which debts are taken off?
Debts due by the end of your Zakat year. For a loan paid in instalments, such as a house, car or business loan, take off only the instalments due by the end of your Zakat year, not the whole outstanding balance.
What is the nisab for Zakat deducted by banks in 2026?
Rs 503,529 for Zakat year 1446-47 AH, as reported from the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety’s notification of 16 February 2026. Banks deducted 2.5% on 1 Ramadan 1447 (19 or 20 February 2026) from savings, profit-and-loss sharing and similar accounts holding at least that, under the Zakat and Ushr Ordinance 1980; the figure was Rs 179,689 the year before. The figure for Ramadan 1448 had not been notified when this page was read.
Worked example
How much Zakat do I pay on Rs 10 lakh, and with debts?
Rs 25,000. Zakat is 2.5% of net zakatable wealth, and 2.5% of Rs 1,000,000 is Rs 25,000. If your bank deducted that on the first of Ramadan, nothing is left to pay on that balance (Rs 0).
With debts it is less. The table above holds Rs 900,000 of cash, gold and shares and owes Rs 100,000 of debts due, so net wealth is Rs 800,000. That is above the illustrative Rs 503,529 nisab (the bank-deduction threshold; your own nisab is 52.5 tola of silver at today’s price), so Zakat is Rs 20,000 (2.5% of Rs 800,000).

Your bank
Can I stop my bank deducting Zakat?
A Muslim account holder who files the prescribed declaration (Form CZ-50) with the bank in time, on grounds of faith and fiqh, is not subject to the deduction; non-Muslims are not subject to it. Zakat the bank deducted under the Ordinance is entered above and taken off; ask your scholar whether it discharges your obligation.
Is Zakat deductible from income tax?
Only Zakat paid under the Zakat and Ushr Ordinance. Section 60 of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001 gives “a deductible allowance for the amount of any Zakat paid by the person in a tax year under the Zakat and Ushr Ordinance, 1980”. It does not apply to Zakat already taken into account under section 40(2): where Zakat is deducted from profit on debt (bank profit) when the profit is paid, section 40(2) allows it against that profit, so it is not allowed a second time. Zakat paid privately is not covered, and an allowance that cannot be used in the year is not refunded, carried forward or carried back (section 60(3)). The income tax calculator works out the tax.

Is Zakat on income or on wealth?
On wealth held. The 2.5% applies to what you still hold on your Zakat date after debts due, not to what you earned in the year: someone who earned a great deal and spent it owes little, someone who saved owes more. Zakat falls due after a lunar year of holding the wealth, about 354 days, so the date moves roughly eleven days earlier against the Gregorian calendar each year.
Where this stops
It works from the figures you enter. It cannot decide for you whether a particular asset is zakatable, such as a plot (bought to sell, or to live on) or money owed that may never arrive; ask your scholar. Jewellery is covered on the gold and silver page.

Is Zakat deductible from income tax in Pakistan?
Only Zakat paid under the Zakat and Ushr Ordinance 1980. Section 60 of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001 makes it a deductible allowance in the tax year it is paid, except Zakat already allowed under section 40(2) against profit on debt when the profit is paid, which is not allowed twice. Zakat you pay privately is not covered, and an unused allowance is not refunded or carried forward or back.
Do I subtract all my debts?
No. Subtract debts due for payment now. For a loan paid in instalments, such as a house or car loan, subtract only the instalments due by the end of your Zakat year, not the whole outstanding balance (Darul Ifta Banuri Town).
